An iconic gift and stationery shop with roots dating back to 1939, Taylor’s Stationery is a true family affair. The store is now run by the second generation of the McQuillan family, who took the reigns over from their parents several years ago.
Our role in a nutshell:
Taylor’s needed help broadening their appeal and bringing their much-loved concept into the present. We were hands on with rebranding and product line updates – all while staying true to their legacy.
The not-so-secret recipe:
First we recognized that we needed to be able to leverage the existing brand equity through look and feel. No change for the sake of change. Then we tackled the tasks of both a branding update and store renovation project through collaborative brainstorming, competitive reviews, and research of voids in the local market marketplace. We also sourced and strategically directed creative partners for these projects (graphic designers, store designers, web designers), as well as researched and recommended brands to add to the assortment. Once the rebranding and renovation were complete, we directed the merchandising approach and came up with a plan-o-gram to direct product layout and overall store flow.
We’re proud to report:
- Increase in year-over-year topline volume
- Growth of new target customer base (young families moving into the area)
- Local award recipient for design improvement and innovation
